Noida: The builder of Hilston Urbtech Society had reputedly taken electricity connection temporarily of about 50 kilowatts during the construction of the society. Even after the families started living in the community, they did not take a permanent electricity connection and continued to supply 750 kilowatts of power from the same line.

Noida: More than 100 families of society in Sector 79 have been living without electricity since 2 am on Thursday after the supply was split following a proclamation of power theft against the builders of the society.

The builder of Hilston Urbtech Society had allegedly taken a temporary electricity connection of 50 kilowatts during the construction of the society.

Even after the families started living there, he did not take a permanent electricity connection and continued to supply 750 kilowatts of power from the same line.

A couple of weeks ago, a team from the Power distribution utility in Meerut visited the society and decided to split the supply from the line.

Supply cut, Hilston Urbtech Society in Darkness: Noida

Some society residents said the power supply was also cut on Tuesday. Still, they managed with power backup till 2 am on Thursday when the entire society went into darkness after electricity was cut.

Gaurav Singh, a resident, said, when we were being handed our flats, we were told that the developer would get a permanent electricity connection in six months.

But the builder continued with the temporary power connections, and we did not indicate it.

After the supply was split, we went to the Power Department’s Office, but they told us they could not help with this power cut.

The generators in our society offered power backup for some time, but they also ran out of diesel because of continuously running.

We don’t know what to do now. The maintenance team is also not present in society after this hustle.

A group of people also went to the district magistrate’s office, but they could not meet him as it was late. The builder do not take any suitable action against this problem.

Noida: Builder stealing power supply?

Gaurav Singh also said, two weeks ago, a team from the power department decided to cut the power supply. They gave some time to the society builder but did nothing about this matter. 

Some builder representatives also said an appeal to grant a six-month extension of the temporary connection was turned down.

He said a new transformer of 450 kilowatts was also installed in the society to maintain the power supply load.

The chief engineer, JV Singh, at the power department, requests the inability to help the residents during the power cut.

This is the builder’s responsibility to help the residents of the society. The department cannot do anything in this matter now. The developer had no right to sell power to residents through a temporary power connection. It was only for construction time, not permanently.
