Unauthorized Gurgaon Colonies Started Regularized
The process of regularizing illegal colonies outside the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon boundaries has been initiated. According to the available records, this will benefit residents of over 500 of these illegal colonies.
The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), located in Gurgaon, has begun an extensive campaign to normalize illegal colonies, not within Municipal Corporation boundaries.
This initiative aims to standardize these communities and provide basic amenities for residents living in these localities.
Unauthorized Gurgaon Colonies
Residents are currently deficient in basic amenities, such as a regular water supply from the municipal system, stable electricity, gas pipelines for cooking, and many more.
The portal was designed to help regularize illegal colonies throughout Haryana. Of the 1200 colonies that users registered, about 500 were found inside Haryana’s Gurgaon district.
The department has recently surveyed the facilities in these areas to assess the magnitude of the development work needed.
The deputy commissioner of Gurgaon has established an advisory committee that includes officials from departments such as town planning fire, health.
And the Public Works Department (PWD) to evaluate the requirements for amenities and the procedures to follow. The process of regularization will continue for six months.
Residents, developers, and Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) were offered the opportunity to sign up their colonies.
Before granting its approval for the regularization of territory, the department will investigate several factors, such as vacant properties in the settlement, the number of residents, the location, the development date, etc.
