June 12, 2023: The RapidX train will soon be open for commercial operations and on the instructions of GDA Vice President Rakesh Kumar Singh, the Acting Chief Engineer Manvendra Singh has already started the work to prepare the revised DPR. This metro route will run from Sector 62 to Sahibabad station on the RapidX train.
The complete name of the Delhi Meerut Metro is Delhi Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System. It is also known as the Delhi – Ghaziabad – Meerut Corridor. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is responsible for developing this Delhi to Meerut Metro. This project is a part of the Make In India initiative.
With the implementation of the rapid transit system, the distance from Delhi to Meerut via the metro can be covered in less than 60 minutes of time. The total cost of the complete project is around Rs. 30,274 Crores. The line has a total of 24 stations, including the two depots, namely Duhai and Modipuram.

The ticket prices for the Delhi Meerut Metro are not available as of now. However, they are going to be announced close to the beginning of operations. It is expected that the EMV-based open loop Automated Fare Collection (AFC) system will be installed by the NCRTC for collecting fares.
The Delhi Meerut metro route under construction is a semi-high-speed rail corridor. It will have an electrification of 25 kV, 50 Hz AC Overhead catenary. To fulfill the energy requirements of the metro route, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with Solar Energy Corporation of India.
